My Story

It started in 2002.

Long before "Italian charm bracelet" was a TikTok trend, I built a business around them. Back then, Italian charms were everywhere.  They were stacked on wrists and traded like little pieces of jewelry gossip.  Each one meaning something specific to the person wearing it. I ran a company called Links Together from 2002 to 2006, sourcing genuine Italian charms from the brands that started it all, Unodomani.  Unodomani was the very company that invented the modular Italian charm bracelet in Arezzo, Tuscany, along with Casa d'Oro, Morellato, D'LinQ, Boxing, Haka Gioielli, and others.

In 2006, life took me in a new direction, and the popularity of Italian charms faded along with it. I pivoted to a new career and moved on. But I never lost my love for that little business. In the back of my mind, I always hoped for a comeback, or that I'd stumble into something else I loved just as much as Links Together.

The charms never left.

What I didn't do was sell off the leftover stock. Strands of genuine, never-worn Italian charms, hundreds of pieces, sat carefully stored for almost twenty years. Not because I planned some big comeback. Just because I could never quite bring myself to let them go.

Then, in Bulgaria, everything changed.

I was recently traveling in Eastern Europe when I noticed a fellow traveler with three Italian charm bracelets stacked on her wrist. She had over 50 country flag Italian charms, one for every place her travels had taken her. Something in me lit up immediately. It was excitement and nostalgia at the same time, that specific feeling of two things you love suddenly colliding.

I'd noticed Italian charms creeping back into style before that moment.  They were on Love Island, all over TikTok, and a new generation discovering something my generation never really let go of.  Seeing her bracelets was the moment it stopped being a trend I was watching from the outside, and became something personal again. My love of travel and my love of Italian charms had never actually been separate things. I just hadn't put them together yet.

That's how Charm the Globe was born, not someone jumping on a moment, but someone finally connecting two loves that had been sitting right next to each other the whole time.

Every charm in this shop is centered around that feeling from Bulgaria: a small, wearable piece of somewhere that mattered. A landmark you stood in front of. A flag from a place you fell in love with. A milestone worth marking. The same thing that stopped me in my tracks on that trip is what I hope stops you, scrolling through this shop, in front of the one charm that means something to you.

Alongside the new travel collection, I'm slowly bringing pieces of that original vintage stock back into the shop too.  I'll be releasing genuine, stamped, decades-old Italian charms with real history behind them, properly told this time instead of rushed to market.
